“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
(1 John 4:18 ESV)
“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins.
(1 Peter 4:8 ESV)
According to Oxford Language, perfect is “make something completely free from faults or defects, or as close to such a condition as possible.” Same reference, love is “an intense feeling of deep affection.” Or “a great interest and pleasure in something.”
Now let me ask you this. Are you perfect? Have you ever loved someone? In regards to the first question. If you said you are perfect, we need to talk. No one living on this earth is perfect. But Jesus is perfect. We can strive to live a perfect life and be like Jesus, but we will keep failing because we are only human. But repent and move on.
Love is a lot easier. It’s easy to love most people. But there are some who are hard to love. But keep trying. Jesus loves us with perfect love. I can say that because Jesus loves us, and He is perfect. So Jesus is perfect love. I want to be like Jesus, but people keep getting on my last nerve, making it hard. But I keep trying. And so should you.
We need more love in our lives. We need to overlook the faults of others and let the love of Jesus shine through us. People need to know someone loves them. Let that someone be you.
Have a great day, everyone.
