“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
(Psalm 23:5 ESV)
“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.”
(Psalm 16:5 ESV)
We sang a song yesterday at church, Fill My Cup Lord by Richard Blanchard:
“Fill my Cup, Lord.
Fill My Cup, Lord by Richard Blanchard
Come and quench this thirsty soul.
Bread of heaven, feed me til I want no more.
Fill my Cup Lord.
Fill it up and make me whole.”
What does it mean to fill your cup? Here are a few thoughts from the internet.
“1. Some say that the phrase means to bring an empty self to Jesus and ask him to fill your soul with his righteousness, mercy, wisdom, and more. It can also mean to lay your heart and soul at his altar and ask him to fill you instead of trying to do it yourself.

2. Others say that God is the one who fills your cup, and your job is to be receptive to it.
3. Some say that being filled with the Spirit means completely surrendering your life to Christ and allowing him to have control.”
I like the last one best. I surrender myself to God. I bend my will to His. When I am running on empty, I reach out to my loving Heavenly Father for a refill. And Dad never fails. He refills me. All because I cried out to Him.
Cry put to the Father. Ask Him to refill you. And He will, just because you asked Him too.
Have a great day, everyone.
