“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
(John 13:34-35 ESV)
“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins.”
(1 Peter 4:8 ESV)
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
(Romans 5:8 ESV)
I have a T shirt that says, “Love Like Jesus”. I love this shirt. But what does it mean to love like Jesus?
According to google, “The biblical definition of love is a selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional commitment to the well-being of others, reflecting the divine nature of God’s love.”
Can you love like that? I have a great like for some. But I do love all people? God wants us to love others. He wants us sensitive to the needs of others. He wants us to show love to the unloved.
God showed the greatest love of all. He sent His only son to die for our sins. Jesus took our sins when He died on the cross for us. Do you have that kind of love? Do you show that kind of love to others? Are you sensitive to the needs of others?
We all, me included, need to show the Jesus kind of love to others. We need to be a lighthouse for others. We need to shine the kind of love Jesus has for all of us.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
