I used to watch the Beverly Hillbillies. Granny would go about her work, usually after taking some “rheumatism” medicine. She would sing this song:

“I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.
Down in my heart!
Down in my heart!
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.
Down in my heart to stay.”

I looked up the lyrics to this song. I like the last verse. I’ve never heard it before that I can remember: 

“And if the Devil doesn’t like it, he can sit on a tack!
Ouch!
Sit on a tack!
Ouch!
Sit on a tack!
And if the Devil doesn’t like it, he can sit on a tack!
Ouch!
Sit on a tack to stay!”

I’ve Got the Joy Joy Joy Joy by George William Cook

I’d like to put a few tacks on the devils chair. It would serve him right for all the trouble he causes. I smile every time I think of Granny singing that song. She didn’t have a great voice, but she was enthusiastic and happy singing it. 

That’s all God asks of us. Just make a joyful noise. He loves us singing praises to Him. So lift your voice and belt out those praises to God our Father.
