Just Getting Started

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1 ESV)

“He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.” (John 1:7 ESV)

Are you lost? Felt like no one cared? I have on both questions.

There’s a song called, “Getting Started” by Jeremy Camp:

“To anyone who ever lost your way.
To everyone who ever felt ashamed.
Here’s a song for all the broken hearted.
I believe you’re only getting started.
To anyone who trusts in Jesus’ name.
Watch your world become forever changed.
Here’s a song about light from darkness.
I believe you’re only getting started.”

(Getting Started by Jeremy Camp)

If any of this verse applies to you, believe me when I say you are just getting started. God is waiting for us to admit we can’t do it alone. This life is just too hard without God front and center in our lives.

I loved the church I grew up in. My best friend was our pastor’s youngest daughter. We did a lot together. We rode our bikes all over town. No helmet and no parental control. Back then it wasn’t needed. We knew when we had to be home and the consequences if we weren’t. But after high school graduation, I got hurt. My feelings were deeply hurt by the pastor. I soon quit going.

I was saved in that church. And I never went back to church. For 28 years, I stayed away. But I did finally go back. And I don’t regret a minute of it. But I didn’t go back to that church.

God completely changed my life. He turned me around and turned me into who I am today. He is still working on me. I’m not perfect and never will be. But by letting God have His way in my life, things turned out a lot differently. He will do the same for you too if you will let Him. He is waiting for you to ask Him to come into your life. Todays a good day to do it.

Have a blessed day everyone.
