“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105 ESV)
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” (Matthew 6:24 ESV)
Google defines satisfied as, “Contented, pleased.”
Unfortunately, I am not satisfied. I want more. I want more of Jesus!
My walk is not where I want it to be. I could blame people because they make demands on my time. I could blame the world. I could blame Jesus. Truth is, it’s my fault. I can make time to spend with Jesus. But I don’t. And I blame myself.
Jesus wants more of me just like I want more of Him. So why don’t I?
The devil throws things in my path to distract me. He tries to derail me everyday. My problem is that I have let him. Well, that stops today. I will make time to spend with Jesus.
It says in Matthew that you cannot serve 2 masters. It says you cannot serve God and money. Substitute the devil for money. By letting myself get distracted isn’t that what I have been doing? The world is of the devil, so I have been serving the devil. Scary thought.
Well, that changes right now. I vow to spend more time in prayer, more time in the Bible and more time seeking God.
What about you? Is your walk where it needs to be? These are scary times we are living in. In order to walk in peace and confidence we need Jesus more than ever. Take a hard look at yourself today. See if you are where you should be. If not, find out why and fix it.
Have a blessed day.
