Frustrated

by | Nov 5, 2021 | Frustration, Surrender

“Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.” (Ecclesiastes 7:9 ESV)

“A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.” (Proverbs 29:11 ESV)

To say I was frustrated yesterday evening is putting it mildly. I wanted to reach through the phone and strangle the computer on the other end. I never did get to talk to a real person.

But thinking back on it, why was I frustrated?

Because I needed a question answered and the automated response wasn’t doing it. I kept getting the run around. I’m not very patient when I am getting the run around, especially from a computer voice.

I looked up the meaning of frustrated. According to google, frustrated means, “The feeling of being upset or annoyed, especially because of inability to change or achieve something.”

Here is the conversation I had with God.

God: Why are you frustrated?

Me: Because I need this question answered and can’t get past the automated response system.

God: Is getting frustrated and upset helping get where you think you need to be?

Me: No, I guess not.

God: Then why not give it to Me and let Me work it out?

Well, He got me on that one. I had not prayed about it, and I hadn’t given it to God to figure out. So that is what I am doing. I am putting it in God’s hands and letting Him work it out.

But how many times do we just go ahead and try to figure it out on our own? God already has it figured out. He is just waiting for us to get out of our own heads and let Him work.

So no matter what you are going through today, God has an answer and a way out for you. So put it in God’s hands and then get out of His way. He will take care of it for us.

Have a great day.
