The Anchor Is Still Holding…

“He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.” (Psalm 107:29 ESV)

“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.” (Nahum 1:7 ESV)

“The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm.”

What storms are you going through? Is your anchor holding? Do you know who your anchor is?

I do. My anchor is Jesus. He is my anchor, he is my rock. When storms of life hit me, my anchor holds steadfast and strong. My rock never fails me.

I saw a joke on Facebook awhile back. I don’t remember exactly how it went but here is the basic idea: “When the devil whispers in you ear, you will never withstand this storm, whisper back I AM THE STORM!”

You have that power. Speak to the storms of life, peace be still. Don’t let everyday trials get you down. Our God is bigger than the storm. Remember who your anchor is and hold on tight to him. Though your ship is battered. Though your sails are torn. Hold on tight to your anchor because he is holding you tight and will never let go.
