“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17 NIV)
Brussels International Luchthaven (Airport) had grown since the last time I was there. Unfortunately its added square footage had NOT made things less confusing!
Just as we had been instructed to do, we arrived three hours before departure. With our luggage in hand we walked all from one end of the terminal to the other, trying to locate the Icelandic air check-in gate. But it was to no avail.
We finally stopped and asked an agent for help, and she pointed us at the end of one of the long rows of check-ins. But there was no Icelandic Air sign over the check-in counter. Nope, that couldn’t be the one!
Someone else advised us that passengers could not check in until 2 hours before boarding, so we realized we had no choice but to find a place to sit until the appropriate check-in desk became posted on the announcement board.
The only problem was this: 90 minutes later, there was still no mention of Icelandic Air on the announcement board!
With heavy suitcases in tow, we restarted our scavenger hunt. I do believe we visited every part of the airport, and were even intimately acquainted with the few available seats! We finally discovered a check-in gate specializing in airlines not mentioned on the announcement boards. This was our spot. The only problem was, we had just an hour left before take-off, and the line was long! Grrr . . .
Life can be quite confusing. People offer us such conflicting advice that we can’t even make heads or tails out of it. Even trying to sort things out ourselves can be aggravating, and sometimes even hazardous to our health! Where can we find solid advice?
According to Jesus, Truth is found solely His Word, the Bible.
Why is it that we tend to ignore what can help us the most?
“But I don’t know how to use it!”
This is where the Author of the Word comes in handy. More will be said about Him in our next devotional.
Tired of being lost and being lied to?
Try the Word of God. It will be a refreshing breeze to your soul. No need to be confused any longer!
“Where can I check my luggage?”
None is needed. Jesus provides us with all of our necessities.
Whew! One less thing to worry about!
