Optional Word Power

And Jesus called the people to Him and said to them, Listen and grasp and comprehend this: It is not what goes into the mouth of a man that makes him unclean and defiled, but what comes out of the mouth; this makes a man unclean and defiles [him].” (Matthew 15:10,11 Amp)

All our words have power: Positive or negative power; life or death power. We all have “Optional Word Power” — Choice!

Jesus speaks positive power words in Mark 11:23-24 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (NKJV)

Some wonderful, positive, powerful happenings are fulfilled in our lives by what we say, especially if we speak Scriptures and truly believe. We enjoy those, don’t we? I have, and many of us have spoken to, and seen various mountains removed from us and cast into the sea to be seen no more. Hallelujah! Thank You Lord.

Certain other mountains stay down for a while and pop up again, and we have to repeat our power speaking to those mountains with more determined belief.

On the other hand some negative powerful mountainous speech patterns and habits stubbornly stay in place with more determination than we have managed to exercise ovr them, “The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips.” (Proverbs 18:7 NLT)

The negative mountains of our natural tongues, speech, words, can be like that if we don’t let our Lord transform us, if we don’t continually pray them under, and if we don’t keep them under the Holy Spirit’s control. When we do those things, this makes us more fruitful to our Lord’s service and purposes for others and ourselves.

As we see in Galatians 5:25 – If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.] (AMP)

Otherwise, as we know right well, we can and do land ourselves in terrible trouble and consequences by our out-of-control-tongues and words.

“We don’t have to,” is very easy to say and write, but it isn’t so easy to remain trouble free with our first reaction words, and even our silences, attitudes, and body language can convey our negatives just as loud and harsh as our words.

However, and don’t we just love Him for this “Good News”? In our Jesus Lord and His Word, we always have higher options, growth, and spiritual maturity to aim for: more fruitful, beneficial power and love to practice and improve on, in our communications with others.

We are given HOPE/EXPECTATION in James 3:2 “For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.” (AMP)

We can get there by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].” (AMP)

Shall We Pray Together? Thank You Lord Jesus that we have “Optional Word Power” over our mountainous tongues through the fruit and help of the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance within us; against which ”there is no law [that can bring a charge].” Thank You, in Your ever fruitful all-powerful Name. Amen and Amen!
