Turn Us Loose

by | May 8, 2015 | Choices, Poem

God, look how they are persecuting Him, please turn us free;
We will fly down as one unit, and bring Him home to Thee.

The pain and the ridicule He is enduring, we just can’t take it anymore;
Lord we need to rescue Him, for it hurts us to the core.

See what they are doing to Him, how can You look the other way;
He called out to You at Gethsemane, we all heard Him pray;

We were so excited when He was born Father, so innocent and so pure;
You sent Him down to earth… He was to be mankind’s cure.

But man has turned their backs on Him and they no longer care;
Yet He hangs there on that cross, for man’s sins He must bear.

Turn us loose Father, let us take Him off that cross;
Hush now pure hearts… His life is the cost.

Long ago in the Garden of Eden, with the tree of knowledge, I gave man a choice;
What good is love and obedience, if it has to be by force.

So, no pure hearts, I will not turn you loose so you can rescue Him;
I sent My Son to pay the price… now the rest is up to them.   Amen
