The Sweetest Name

by | May 18, 2010 | Jesus, Poem, Worship

Lord, your name is music to my ears,
As sweet as drops of honey on my tongue,
Just as fresh as the raindrops on a flower
And as vibrant as the bright and morning sun.

I will praise it to the world and to the heavens.
I will shout it from the rooftops and the streets.
I shall say it to the lost and undone sinners;
Telling it to everyone I meet.

My lips will sing Your name unto the congregation
And lift it higher than the stars up in the sky.
I will tell them of Your grace and tender mercy,
And how they can live forever; by and by.

Lord, I will exalt Your name above all others,
Place it on a pedestal so high,
Tell it to the children and their mothers;
Soaring like an eagle in the sky.

Your sacred name is precious and enduring,
More valuable than rubies, gold, or pearls;
So soft that the song birds stop to listen
To the sweetest name and voice in all the world.
