Fear of Cancer

What a privilege it was! A few days ago I talked with a beautiful person, someone that just oozed life’s experience. She had a depth to her that is missing in many people, because they haven’t had to travel the same journey.

Mary had been diagnosed with breast cancer several months before, and it had shattered her somewhat stable existence. Her family had taken the news better than she had.

One day at a medical appointment the doctor said something of life-changing significance…and she is ever so glad he did!

“Mary,” he said, “if I could tell you something that could turn around this disease, would you like to hear it?”

“What a silly question?” she retorted, “of course I would. Please tell me!” came Mary’s pointed reply.

“This disease, even though not cured, can be lessened by you. It’s how you think about it that will make the big difference. Every time negative thoughts enter, place a picture of your family over that thinking. Think positive against the illness.”

Ever since that time Mary’s outlook and prognosis have been much more positive.

God has a prognosis over our lives. Read it carefully!

“Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Today, claim the truth, our difficulties have been defeated!
