As supervisor of a modern office, she was aware of the dreaded ‘computer virus.’ If it got into the computers it would corrupt through the whole office system. All the programs of order and efficiency would be corrupted and life would be chaotic. It would also need an expert to bring about a rescue.

She had to be away for a conference so she carefully instructed staff members. “When you switch on your computers,” she advised, “don’t open any internet communication if you do not already recognise the sender. Don’t let the virus in because it will ruin our work. In short, don’t speak to strangers.”

Then she left, knowing she had shared a necessary warning with her mature staff. There need be no chaos in paradise.

But guess what! Somebody talked to a stranger.

When the supervisor returned she called in the expert to cure the case.

It is the oldest story in the world. God said to his mature staff, Adam and Eve, if you eat of that tree, you will let the virus in, Genesis 2:16,17.

Guess what! They talked to a stranger and the virus got in. It brought death, it brought degradation in nature and it brought physical and mental abuse of power. In short, it brought corruption that infected every program of life.

Fortunately there is a rescuer. He is an expert with a few thousand years experience but he has a complete cure.

‘For as through the disobedience of one man many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.’ Romans 5:19.
