Black Sheep

by | Jun 4, 1999 | Christmas, Poem

Baa Baa Black Sheep, Have you any wool ?
No sir I don’t but my cupboards are all full.
My wool has been plucked so over the years.
I was left naked drowning in my tears.

Baa baa Black sheep have you any tea ?
Yes sir I save it for special company.
Would you like to come inside and have a sip with me.
There is no obligation, my companionship is free.

Black sheep, Black sheep have you heard the news ?
Won’t you let me share it, what do you have to loose?
Jesus sent me to see you to share with you His love.
To tell you of salvation and a blessed God above.

I too was a black sheep till Christ came to me,
Of the broken pieces He has set me free.
He does not want you hopeless, or cast out and so  blue,
Oh won’t you let me share some of the love He has for you.

He is God a humble shepherd, who became for us a sheep.
He went to the cross of  cruelty, and never made a peep.
He died for us, that we might live.
No greater mercy can anyone give.

All you have to do now is ask Him into your heart,
Ask for His forgiveness, of your sins depart.
Trust Him only to guide you every minute of every day.
Read the word often and don’t forget to pray.

God the  Holy Spirit will live within your soul.
Will comfort, guide and teach you making you feel whole.
You will still have trials but now you have a friend.
Cause Jesus never leaves you, will be there till the end.

The end will come for this Earth, but Black Sheep have no fear.
We shall live with Him in Heaven, and never know a tear.
Black sheep thanks for listening and thank you for the tea.
Remember you have a new friend who lives inside of thee.

Share this news with the other  sheep so hopeless and so down.
Look into the pastures and see the heavy, weary frowns.
Share the life abundant , the life in Christ so free.
Know God,  the Holy Spirit will guide and be with thee.
