Ask, Seek, Knock

The young man paid a visit to the Doctor. He was a bit nervous and shy. The Doctor inquired of him what his problem was. He mentioned a few things which the Doctor addressed by prescribing some medication. When the man got back to the car he remembered that there was something else which he should have told the Doctor. Because he hadn`t asked for help in this particular area of addiction he didn't receive help for this problem.

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight." (Mark 10:51 KJV)

What would you say to Jesus if He asked, ”what would you like Me to do for you?"

Matthew 7:7 encourages us to ask, seek and knock. Verse 11 says, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (KJV)

Thought would need to go into the answer because James 4:3 challenges the motive for asking. It says, "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." (KJV)

One thing is certain, God gives Grace to the humble (See
James 4:6) Let's all ask for Grace and allow our heavenly Doctor to heal our wounds. Let'`s make sure we don't forget to mention a particular problem. Tell Him everything.

One more thing.

We should Rejoice in the Lord always with thanksgiving when we talk to him about our problems so that we will experience His peace (See
Philippians 4:4-7).

Don't forget to ask.

Donnie Black.
