He Is the First in EVERYTHING! Part 3

In the concluding part of our series titled, "He is the first in everything." After having focused on how the Lord takes the lead in implanting love and faithfulness in us, today let's focus on how our Lord takes the first step forward in implanting hope in us...


Hope...

Comparing the Christian life to a building, if love is our foundation and faith is our pillar, then hope is the equivalent of the roof of a building. Hey, whenever we speak of the "roof" when inside a room, are we not naturally inclined to look skywards? Yes, it is indeed every Christian's "Blessed hope" to one do be taken to Heaven ("while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed." Titus 2:13 NLT). We will either be "defying" the laws of grave, from which there is normally no "exit" once one has "entered" in, or we will defy gravity by being translated from the land of the living to Heaven!

But how did this "blessed hope" take birth in us? Let the tell-tale Scripture take over at this stage:

(And notice the reference to "first" again...) "...Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits  of those who have fallen asleep..." (1 Cor 15:20 ESV)

Candidly put, minus the "first" Easter where there was no human hand in Jesus' resurrection, there would be no "blessed hope" in or for us.

So Dear Friends, in conclusion let me say that in response to His love, faithfulness and engendered hope in us, let us at all times love the Lord passionately (see Rev. 2:4), follow Him faithfully, for we have been called and chosen (See Rev. 17:14), and earnestly look ahead in anticapation of our eventual trip to Heaven (See 2 Tim. 4:8). All glory to Him! Amen and Amen!!!
