Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
(Proverbs 3:5 ESV)
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
(Psalm 37:4-6 ESV)
I heard this yesterday and started thinking. I know, a dangerous thing for me to do… “Who do you believe, God or the world?”
I was researching this and found this on AI Overview: “The Bible advises against trusting in the world and its riches, instead encouraging reliance on God. It emphasizes that true security and blessing come from trusting in God, not in worldly things or human beings.
Why the Bible discourages trusting the world:
1. Worldly things are transient and unreliable: The Bible highlights that wealth, power, and human relationships are not eternal and can be taken away or fail.
2. Trusting in worldly things leads to anxiety and fear: The Bible encourages believers to cast their anxieties on God, as he cares for them.
3. True security and blessing come from trusting in God: The Bible emphasizes that God is a source of strength, refuge, and salvation.
In essence, the Bible encourages a shift in perspective from relying on worldly things and human beings to trusting in God’s promises and his unwavering faithfulness.”
So who do you believe? God or the world. I will go out always believing in God and His plan for me. I pray you do too.
Have a fabulous day, everyone.
