“If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.”
(1 Corinthians 12:26 ESV)
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
(Romans 12:15 ESV)
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.”
(Hebrews 10:24 ESV)
I read a story on Facebook about a police officer answering a wellness call. The officer found a very frail elderly woman. He asked a few questions. He found she had no food. He left. He went to a local grocery store and bought her some groceries. Then, he fixed her a hot meal. Long story short, he kept checking on her. One day, he took her to a local senior center. She made friends and started living again. But he still checked on her weekly.
The moral of this story is that you never know who is struggling or who needs a little human contact. It doesn’t cost anything to make a quick call to check on someone.
There are struggling people out there. People who are hungry for Jesus and don’t know where to turn to. Be that person who checks in on people who need encouragement. Let them know Jesus loves them. You might be the only person who ever checks on them.
Have a great day, everyone.
