Boredom Is Boring

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

(2 Timothy 2:15 ESV)

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

(Colossians 3:23 ESV)

According to Oxford Languages, bored is “feeling weary because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one’s current activity.”

Have you ever been bored? I have once or twice. It was boring. I have had kids I used to sit for tell me it’s boring here. I gave them a list of chores they could do. They weren’t bored then. They found something to do.

What do you do when you’re bored? There’s a lot of good options:

1. Read a good book. The Bible comes to mind.
2. Call a friend or family member you haven’t talked to in a while. Reconnect with them.
3. Praying is always a good thing to do. There are always people who need prayer. Or you could just talk to God. He is always ready to talk to you.
4. Do a craft. I love to craft. It keeps me busy and my mind off things. And even if my hands are busy, I can still talk.

So the next time you find yourself bored, pull out your Bible and read or just talk to God. It’s always time well spent.

Have a great day, everyone.
