“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
(John 15:5 ESV)
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
(Colossians 3:17 ESV)
I was flipping through movies last night and saw one with the title, “I’m Nothing Without God.” I haven’t seen it, but the title was interesting. Just a few short years ago, I was wandering. I still served God, sort of. I still prayed mostly. I still read my Bible sometimes. I was nothing. Yes, God loved me, but I don’t think He liked me very well. I wasn’t exactly living in His will for my life.
But one day, all that changed. I found myself at rock bottom, and He called my name. He asked if I was ready to fully commit myself to Him? I was. It took a few years of learning how to listen for His voice. It took a few years to reject what I wanted and seek what He had for me. It took a few years for me to get settled into God’s will for my life.
Am I completely there? Nope. But I’m working on it. And I will continue to work on it until I finally go home. Will I perfect it? Probably not, but I will continue to work on it. No one here on earth is perfect, so why should I think I can be? God had a plan for my life before I was even born. I have always had a heart for helping. I worked a lot of jobs taking care of people. God knows what my strengths and weaknesses are, and He uses them to strengthen me.
God has a plan for you. We are all His children, and we are nothing without God. So seek out what you are supposed to be doing and do it.
Have a fabulous day, everyone.
