Psalms 23

by | Sep 27, 2024 | Comfort, Strength

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

(Psalm 23 ESV)

There’s a song called “Still Waters” (Psalm 23) by Leanna Crawford:

“Still waters run through
Any valley I could find
I’m laying fear down
Here at Heaven’s riverside
Your word has been true
In every season of my life
I believe, yes, I believe that
Still waters run through
Any valley I could find
I’m laying fear down
Here at Heaven’s riverside
Your word has been true
In every season of my life
I believe, yes, I believe.”

Still Waters by Leanna Crawford

While researching this, I found several songs touching on this Scripture. Psalm 23 is a very important part of the Bible. I say this every morning. I find comfort in it. Psalm 23 is a very comforting part of the Bible. It reassures me and gives me comfort and hope. When I find myself feeling down, I pray this. I take comfort in knowing this was written for us. When we are going through rough times, Jesus is there going through it with us, helping us and encouraging us.

Next time you feel down, maybe going through a rough patch or just need a little encouragement, recite Psalm 23.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
