“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
(Proverbs 18:21 ESV)
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
(Ephesians 4:29 ESV)
This was shared on Facebook. True words: “You either bless or curse your day with the things you say!”
I’ve talked about words building up and breaking down. Words can also set the tone for your day. How many times do you get up in the morning grumbling? Maybe you didn’t sleep well or you argued with someone. Then you discover your whole day has gone wrong. Your words have power.
But what if you start your day with a positive attitude? I think you would find that your day goes better. I know positive people who when something goes wrong, they shake it off and go on. I also know negative people who all they do is gripe and groan about whatever. They don’t see the positive side of anything. It’s not fun being around a negative Nancy all the time. They tend to bring me down if I let my guard down.
I like being around positive Patty. They are always upbeat and happy no matter what is going on. I want to encourage you to stay positive. Ask yourself what would Jesus do. How would He handle this? You can’t go wrong if you follow the example of Jesus.
Have a great day, everyone.
