Rear Guard Protection

by | May 14, 2024 | Deliverance, Protection

“For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”

(Isaiah 52:12 ESV)

“for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”

(Deuteronomy 20:4 ESV)

Do you know the purpose of a rear guard? According to Wikipedia, a “Rear guard refers to the soldiers that are stationed at the rear of a body to protect it from attack, especially during retreat. A rear guard is a covering detachment that protects the retreating main ground force element (main body), or column, and is charged with executing defensive or retrograde movements between the main body and the enemy to prevent the latter from attacking or interfering with the movement of the main body.”

Did you know we have a rear guard? Jesus watches our backs constantly. He will put Himself between us and the enemy.  Jesus fights for us. He takes on the enemy and fights battles we don’t even know about.

But Jesus is also our front guard. He clears the path for us.

Will we never have another problem? Of course we will. We are only human, after all. We make mistakes. But Jesus will help us out of the trouble we get into if we let Him. We can just go about our business and try to solve problems on our own. But why? Jesus has our backs. He has our front. He has all of us covered. Just let Him work.

Put your problems in His hands and let Him take over. I don’t regret letting Jesus handle my problems. And I don’t think you will either.

Have a great day, everyone.
