It’s hot and humid. My plants are wilting. We need rain.
The song that speaks of letting it rain had been running through my head all afternoon yesterday:
“Lord, send the rain.
(Let the Fire Fall by Carman)
Pour out your spirit.
Let the fire fall.
Heal us one and all.
Fall fresh on me.”
I haven’t been up to par for a while. I need a good soaking holy rain. I need refreshed and refilled. God sometimes seems so far away. But He really isn’t. He is right here with me at all times. It’s not God who walked away. It’s me. I have let things come, worry guilt, doubt. Stress plays a big part in why we feel so far away from God. We let worry and stress in, and then we feel like God is gone. But He is right here waiting for us to call out to Him for help.
We all need to realize that God is right here all the time. Just reach out to Him. He will receive us with open arms. So, if you are feeling stressed, anxious, or worried, reach out to God. He will wrap His arms around you and take care of you.
And remember, “Lord, send the rain. Pour out your spirit. Let the fire fall. Heal us one and all. Fall fresh on me.”
