“For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1 ESV)

“Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” (Psalm 2:3 ESV)

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36 ESV)

“Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 ESV)

Are you bound by chains so heavy you can barely move? There is a way to get rid of them. Give your life to Jesus. Just ask Him into your heart, and He will break the chains that bind you tightly. But you have to want to be rid of them. 

Sometimes, we get so comfortable that we don’t notice the added weight of the chains that bind us. The devil puts the chains around us to bind us so tightly that we don’t follow Jesus like we should. But Jesus is a chain breaker. He can break the chains that have us in bondage. He can break any and all chains.

The song, “Chain Breaker” by William Murphy, says:

“He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, 
He’s a way maker. 
If you need freedom or saving, 
He’s a prison shaking Savior. 

You got chains, 
He’s a chain breaker”

Jesus is a way maker. He makes a way before we know we need it. Ask me, I can tell you a story or two about how He broke chains for me. So if you feel like you’re in a prison, Jesus is prison shaking Savior. Let Him shake the prisons that may be holding you bound. It doesn’t matter if the prison holding you is health, family, finances, or whatever, let Jesus shake you free.
