“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what is promised.” (Hebrews 10:35-36 ESV)

“Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12 ESV)

I have always heard the expression “endurance to run the race.” But I have also learned that you also need patience to run the race. 

For me, since I am getting older and have basically abused my body all my life, it doesn’t work the way it should. I spent my adult life working on hard concrete floors. Plus, being overweight my whole life hasn’t helped. I am finally losing weight, but the damage is done. My legs don’t work right, and my arms are weak. But I have faith that God is going to heal me. 

But along with faith comes patience. It seems like patience goes along with anything of God. God’s timetable is not the same as ours. This is where patience comes in. Patience to run the race and endurance to stay in the race. If you just give up, you might miss something God has coming for you. And you don’t want that.

But just be warned, when God has a blessing coming for you, the devil will do everything he can to block it. When you are serving God, the devil tries to convince you to stop. 

But we have the blood of Jesus as our weapon. Just plead the blood over whatever and then wait patiently.God is King, and the King has one more move. He will one up the devil every time.

So just be patient and let God have His way. Things will work out for the best.
