“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15 ESV)

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)

I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday. I could hear the rain on the roof as I waited in the exam room. The nurse came in with some shots I was getting in my hands and said it was really dark out and the rain was blowing sideways. The thought, “the floodgates are open”. Usually floodgates are closed to keep areas from flooding. But today God said, “The floodgates are opening, reach out and take what you need.” God has opened the floodgates of heaven to pour out blessings on us.

God wants us happy. He wants His children happy and not lacking anything. So ask Him today for what you want. He might surprise you. He might give you the desires of your heart too.  Our God is like that. He gives us what we need and the desires of our hearts too.

So let God open the floodgates for you too. Reach out and take what you have need of. Personally, I could use several floodgates opened. So reach out today and let God open those floodgates for you.
