Fill Me Lord

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

(Psalm 23:5 ESV)

“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'”

(Mark 16:15 ESV)

I was listening to the radio yesterday in my car. The song Fill My Cup, Lord sung by Jessy Dixon came on:

“Fill my cup, Lord,
I lift it up, Lord.
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven,
feed me ’til I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.”

Full My Cup by Jessy Dixon

This is my plea to God today. Fill us up Lord. Heal what needs healed, whether physical, mental, financial or whatever. Fill us up. Fill us to overflowing so we can help others. There are so many people hurting these days.

I drove by my local food pantry yesterday afternoon. The director was putting food items on a table outside. They call it the Giving Garden. Take what you want but don’t be greedy. I saw a young woman with a couple small kids clinging to her. She was going through the stuff on the table. My heart went out to her. She looked desperate.

But there are a lot of people who are desperate lately. People are hungry today and not just for food. People are hungry for the Lord. It’s our job to feed these people.

When I started these daily scriptures, God told me to feed His children. So I continue on, doing what I can to get the word out there. But it’s your job too. Are you doing your part? Are you feeding God’s children? It might be as simple as helping a neighbor. That simple act of kindness may just open the door to you leading them to God.

So go feed God’s children. They are hungry and searching. Feed them the truth.

Have a blessed day.
