“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.” (Hebrews 6:19 ESV)
“And fearing we might run on the rocks, they let down 4 anchors from the stern and prayed for day to come.” (Acts 27:29 ESV)
This song means so much to me. It was the song running through my head at my Mom’s funeral. God was reassuring me I would be all right. God was reminding me He is my anchor and if I hold tight, I will be fine.
“The anchor holds,
The Anchor holds
Though the ship is battered.
The anchor holds,
Though the sails are torn.
I have fallen on my knees,
As I faced the raging seas.
The anchor holds,
In spite of the storm.”
It doesn’t matter what storms we go through, God is our anchor. He is there holding us together even though we think we are falling apart.
“But it was in the night,
The Anchor Holds
Through the storms of my life.
Oh, that’s where God proved His love to me.”
This is so true. Through every storm in my life, God was there. He proved over and over just how much he loves me.
Are you going through a storm today? Do things seem dark and stormy? Hold tightly to your anchor. Hold tight to God. He will help you weather the storm and come out safe.
I have had my share of storms, but one thing I can say with confidence, my anchor still holds!
Have a great day!
