“Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:26 ESV)
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15 ESV)
While researching for yesterday’s devotional, I kept seeing, “The steadfast love.” I mean it was verse after verse after verse. You think God was trying to tell me something? So I decided to do a little searching. That sentence is repeated 5 times in Psalm 118 alone. Then in Psalm 85:15, Deuteronomy 7:9, Psalm 51:1 and in Exodus 34:6. Those are just a few places in the Bible that talk of God’s steadfast love.
I decided to look up steadfast. According to google steadfast is “resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.” That describes God. It shows how much love He has for us. It shows His love never changes.
God loved us before we were born. How could he love us before we were even born? But we forget. God created everything. He knew who we were long before we came into existence. So if God loves us that much, why can’t we love Him right back?
Oh, my friend, we can. There is no reason we can’t love God as much as he loves us. So I want to encourage you to tell God just how much you love him. Tell him he’s the greatest thing that ever happened. Then thank him for everything he has done for you. If you woke up this morning, you have a reason to thank him. Always remember, God loves you. His steadfast love endures forever.
