“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” (John 14:6 ESV)

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5 ESV)

I was on my way to Walmart yesterday morning and heard the song Legacy by Casting Crowns. This is part of it:

“And I, I don’t want to leave a legacy
I don’t care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I’ve only got one life to live
I’ll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus.”

It got me to thinking. Do I really care if anyone remembers me after I am gone? It doesn’t matter as long as they remember I loved Jesus with my whole heart.

The song spoke to my heart. I don’t need to leave a legacy. People don’t need to remember me. I haven’t done anything to create fame or fortune so why worry about it?

But one thing I am doing is to make sure everyone I can possibly reach, knows about Jesus and how to be saved.

So here goes. Say this prayer, mean it and ask Jesus into your heart. Today is a good time to do it. “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
