We have a TV program currently showing called, “Who Do You Think You Are.” It deals with Celebrities researching their backgrounds as far back as Great Grandparents and Grandparents, also visiting the countries of their ancestor’s birth. The results vary, of course, according to the positive or negative things they discover about their relatives.

Fortunately, by God’s Loving Grace, there is never any negative when Christians research the Bible to discover who they are.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba Father!” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8:15-16. (NAS)

“I AM A CHILD OF GOD.”

We can boldly proclaim it, if:

We are born again. John 3:3.

We believe in Jesus the Christ. John 1:12.

We have God’s Spirit of adoption as sons/daughters. Romans 8:15.

We are the children of God. Romans 8:16.

We are fashioned in the likeness of God Colossians 3:10

We call God Abba Father. Romans 8:15.

But, there is another kind of father we read about in the Bible. Jesus called the devil a father, and said he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8: 44.

He will come to attempt to deceive us. He will come with his lies in the night, or in a low time we may be experiencing, or when we may have failed at something.

He’ll tell us we are not really children of God.

That we are not good enough.

That we are not righteous enough.

That we are too insignificant to be important to God.

He reminds us of the promises we’ve broken, the lies we’ve told, the wrong decisions we’ve made, the wrong directions we’ve taken, and many more negatives about us as well as many lies about us.

We need to boldly state, with blatant courage, “I AM A CHILD OF GOD, I don’t belong to you Devil. You are not my father. God is my Father. I am His godly daughter/son.

Just as our Father in Heaven wants to constantly remind us of who we are, so we must constantly remind ourselves, others, and the father of lies.

“I am God’s creation.

I am born of God.

I belong to the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.

I am His Precious pearl.

God would swim every ocean to rescue me, climb any mountain to be with me.

God has done everything for me.

Given His only Son, for me to be His child.

My Father God knows everything I ever did and He loves me just the same, in spite of and regardless.

His love never changes.

He never changes.

His love for me is IMMEASURABLE.

I AM A CHILD OF GOD, and eternally, so I shall be.”

Prayer: Thank You our Loving Father, that You are indeed our Father. Thank You that we who belong to You, can boldly proclaim our son ship at all times. Thank You, Lord, Jesus, that You have made this possible by Your Great Sacrifice at Calvary. May we Your children never be silent about who we are! In Jesus Magnificent Name. Amen and Amen.
