On our trip in B.C., we decided to go to a grocery store to get some food. Like usual, the kids get to come along and bore themselves to death. We parked our Lincoln SUV and got out (the rented SUV was a gift from God. When we went to pick up our reserved car, we needed one with Canadian plates or we would have trouble crossing the US/Canadian border. When the rental company only had one on the lot, this SUV, we got a free upgrade!). As we started to walk towards the story, we noticed the car parked next to us. It was a Mazda Protégé. In French the word “Protégé” means ‘protected’. So a Mazda Protégé is a “protected car”!

But this Protégé obviously had lost its protection! Its rear side door was all bent and battered, practically hanging on to the rest of the car with duck tape! Boy, that car sure needed to see the REAL way to be protected.

We, as humans, have the same problem. People all over the world say that they are Christians, yet they really don’t know God. Then they wonder why they end up all banged up and held together by duck tape! We shouldn’t just say that we are Christians, but we should act like Christ is in us, we should learn to know God and to trust Him. “Take note! I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they are Christian and are not, but lie–behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and learn and acknowledge that I have loved you.” (Rev 3:9).

If you are like this, change it, for you need to: “Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” (Rom 6:11-12)

We need to continue to be like Christ and be protected by him.

By the way, are any of you welders? I’m certain that you could have some fun welding people to Jesus!
