Desolate Road

by | Jun 4, 1999 | Poem, Salvation

Desolate road is one winding with no end in sight.
Filled with obstacles, enclosed in ebony of night.
So full of perils, no safe place to light.
Any caught on this road will share the same plight.

Crevices offer no foothold for the weary traveler caught.
On this desolate road only infirmities will be bought.
No goodness will be discovered or sought.
Evil sculptured confines, the soul escapes not.

There is only one passage off this desolate road many share.
The ticket is the most precious thoroughfare.
Without a trip on Glory’s train, many will be stranded there.
Only one conductor offers the one-way fare.
