Please Come Soon

by | Jun 1, 1999 | Poem, Second Coming

The missiles fly across the screen,
The air raid sirens squeal.
We hear the blast, we see the smoke;
It almost seems surreal.
Mere words cannot express the
Deep emotions that I feel.
Lord Jesus, please come soon.

By land, by air, by sea they go
To set a nation free.
To make this world a safer place
For them, for us, for me.
The cost will be so precious
Yet they still go willingly.
Lord Jesus, please come soon.

God bless our country and the ones
Who fight for us today.
Please guide our leaders and our troops,
Please light for them the way.
Our freedom we will fight for,
For freewill to us You gave.
Lord Jesus, please come soon.

For those of us who’re fighting and
For those of us who’ll die;
For those who’re waiting here at home,
For those of us who cry;
My prayer is that the day soon comes
When God our eyes will dry.
Lord Jesus, please come soon.
