Free From Stress

"After this conversation, Jesus went on with his disciples into the Judean countryside and relaxed with them there."  (John 3:22, MSG)

All my life I have had two full-time jobs, one paid and the other volunteer. Teaching was my paid job, and I loved it. I loved helping students, and it was exhilarating for me to hear them say,  thanks, Mr. Chaffart, for helping me!

My volunteer job, witnessing for God via the Internet, was even more fulfilling. I loved helping others find our amazing Heavenly Father, and it was really exciting to introduce them to God 's healing powers. It is so amazing to pray for people, even on the other side of the world, and watch them be healed. But why not? After all, it is our Heavenly Father who heals.

I retired from my paying job last June, and since then, I have noticed that I am completely relaxed. Although I am still quite busy, the stress is completely gone. I used to need massage therapy every month or my back would be as stiff as a board. It has currently been four months since I retired, and I have had no need of massage therapy. My back is now completely relaxed.

What is interesting is that I had no idea I was stressed. Call me an optimist, but there were times when I thought I was stress free. Now that I am retired, I realize that I could have been much more relaxed, even while continuing to teach. You see, when stress was high, I would take it hard. I would try to find ways to resolve all of the problems myself, and it was only when I came home and shared my troubles with my Heavenly Father that I could truly relax. I regret that I didn 't go straight to my Father at all times. I could have led a much more relaxed life if I had immediately gone into the presence of our Heavenly Father with my problems.

As I think about this, I remember times when I asked my Father for a massage. Every time I asked, I woke up completely relaxed and I had a terrific day. Sadly, I could have asked for far more of these massages. Instead, I chose to focus on my stress.

May we never forget to come freely to our Heavenly Father with our stress, to receive that Heavenly massage that will make you relaxed completely.

Enjoy!

"She went home and found her daughter relaxed on the bed, the torment gone for good."  (Mark 7:30, MSG)
