I bought a house in a small town near my two sisters that needed some
fixing up. The roof leaked in one room and then another, and another.
Bats started staying in the attic and sometimes would get into the
house. One night about 1 a.m. I woke up with the realization that there
was a bat flying above me. I covered my head with the blankets, but what
was I going to do?
My sister who lived across the road was out of
town cleaning and fixing up a house for her sick brother-in-law who was
staying with them until the house could be readied for him. I called her
husband and asked him if he would come over and open up the bedroom door
so the bat could fly out of my bedroom. He said "NO!" Somebody might see
that his wife wasn't there because their car was gone and they would
think he was sneaking over to my house to be with me! You know when
you've got a bat flying over your head you aren't thinking about the
neighbors gossiping. Trust me!
I took a blanket, put it over my
head, crawled to the door, and got it opened. The bat flew out of the
room, and eventually I got it out of the house.
One day I looked
on the internet to try to find a way to get rid of the bats. I found a
sight that said that there was a little device that would make a high
pitched sound that they could hear but you couldn't, and it would get
rid of the bats. It was too expensive for my income so that didn't help.
Later, I remembered that a friend had given me a small device, about
a year before, that she used to get rid of spiders in her basement. It
dawned on me that maybe I could use it to get rid of the bats! I plugged
it in that afternoon. Then, about dusk I heard this commotion going on
out in the other part of the house. I can only imagine that it was the
bats leaving because I can't remember ever seeing another bat after
that. Isn't God good!!! He knew way back a year before, that I would
need that device to get rid of the bats. It encourages me to know that
He knows the future and will provide for me. He even provided for me to
move to a wonderful little (dry) apartment complex in a nearby town
where I could have a "Mission Field."
GOD'S PROVISIONS
If
you could but know what tomorrow would bring,
Would you do what
you're doing or change anything?
The future is a mystery to all of us
here,
But, if our lives are surrendered to God we have nothing to
fear.
