The baby two rows in front of me at church, peeked over her mother's shoulder and we made eye contact. I smiled. She smiled. I gave a little wave. She waved back. She opened her eyes wide. I widened mine in return. Then she made eye contact with a fellow sitting to my left, in the row ahead of me. He immediately started making funny faces at her and she grinned from ear to ear. Next her gaze centered on another parishioner and they too instantly commenced interacting with this lovely little face.

I chuckled to myself. So much for the pastor's sermon. It was this bright, shiny little face that was capturing the attention of those around her this morning. A lovely little face, so full of light, trust, and joy that it encouraged me all week. It encouraged me because it reminded me of the truth. One day every believer will see the beautiful face of Jesus and when we do nothing else will matter, we will be so enraptured by His presence and glory.

Revelation 22:3 -5 states: "No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." (NIV)

These promises are for all who choose to trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Jesus who laid down His life for the sin of mankind, that mankind might choose to take up new and eternal life in Him.

Is this something you have done? Chosen to trust Christ to forgive your sins, all the wrong you have ever done and will ever do. A forgiveness that comes the moment we truly turn away in sorrow from our wrong doings, and look to Him for the forgiveness and the new life He so freely offers. A life, that though not free from temptations or error while we remain on this earth, is a life that becomes filled with the light of forgiveness, trust and joy as we walk with Him day by day choosing His will over our own.

If not, won't you consider making such a choice today? For just as the beautiful little face of that baby in the pew ahead was watching myself and others, with the hope that we would respond to her, so Jesus is also watching and desiring that none should perish but that all will enter in to eternal life through Him (See
John 3:16)!
"
Prayer: Father God thank You for the gift of salvation that is freely offered to everyone who trusts and believes in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour. May many choose to respond to Him this day. In Christ's name. Amen.
