Broken Pots

by | Apr 17, 2025 | Surrender, Trust

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

(Ps. 147:3 ESV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

(Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

I was watching a video of Mark Lowry. He made the statement, “Broken pots spill more water.” To my dull brain, that made a lot of sense. I know something broken won’t hold a liquid very well.

I am broken. But that is when God can use me. He can use a broken person easier than He can someone who has it all together.

According to AI Overview, spiritual  brokenness means, “Spiritual brokenness, in a biblical context, refers to a state of humility and acknowledging one’s own limitations and need for God’s grace. It’s not a sign of decline but a doorway to a deeper, more authentic relationship with God. This often involves recognizing personal flaws, weaknesses, and failures, leading to a contrite heart and a desire for God’s help.”

Are you broken? If you are, don’t feel like you are alone. We are all broken in one way or another. If you’re not, share with me your secret to being whole. It’s time to humble ourselves and draw closer to God. It’s time to admit we are broken. It’s time, my friend. Time is really getting short.

Have a great day, everyone.
