“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
(Romans 1:16 ESV)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
(2 Timothy 2:15 ESV)
“As it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always, Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.”
(Philippians 1:20 ESV)
I heard a song yesterday called, “Unashamed”, by Matthew West:
“So what’s gonna be said of me when it’s all said and done?
Will I stand for my beliefs, or will I turn around and run?
Well, let the whole world hear me say
I’m unashamed
Of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And the truth that changed my life.
For the name above all names.”Unashamed by Matthew West
Can you say you are ashamed to be called a child of God? Are you ashamed to declare your love for God publicly? If so, why? Are you afraid people will laugh or just walk away?
You should never be ashamed to be called a child of God. You should never be ashamed to declare your love for God publicly. After all, Jesus died for us so we could live and declare the name of our God.
I have been paying more attention when I go out. There are more people saying, “God bless you,” and “Have a blessed day.” What does that mean? Is it just a phrase, or do they really mean it? I believe they mean it. I do when I say it to someone. It just seems to make my day when someone says to me.
So my question to you today. Are you unashamed to proclaim your love of God to others? Think about it. If you are ashamed to tell others about God, then how do you think God feels about it?
“For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:26 ESV)
Have a blessed day, everyone.
