Kindness Counts

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

(Ephesians 4:32 ESV)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

(John 13:34-35 ESV)

I had something happen yesterday that I have been working on for a couple of weeks. Once it was resolved, I profusely thanked Mitchell. No, I don’t know him personally, but he is nice, friendly, and knows his job. A few kind words can diffuse just about any situation. Being kind doesn’t cost anything, and you don’t have to repent later.

I had a friend years ago that was very negative. She would say do unto others before they do unto you. But read, “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” (Luke 6:31 ESV) To paraphrase that, “Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you.” If you sow anger and harsh words, you will get anger and harsh words back. But if you sow peace and kindness, that is what you will get back.

Which would you prefer? Anger and harsh words or peace and kindness? I choose option 2.

Have a great day, everyone.
