A Wonderful Gift

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

(Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.”

(2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV)

I was babysitting a couple of my great grandkids yesterday, so it was a day of kid related shows. Which is fine. In one of the Disney movies we were watching, the main character said, “Every day, every second is a gift. We are not guaranteed another day or even another minute.” That kind of struck home since I am now really close to 70 years old.

When our time is over, it’s time to move on. Where you go depends on the decisions you make while still breathing. You might be the most generous person alive, but if you haven’t given your life to God, then you are bound for hell. You might be the most vile person, but if you give your life to God, you are on your way heaven. God is no respecter of persons. If you ask Jesus into your life,  He honors it even if it’s uttered with your last breath.

You don’t have to say a long-winded prayer. Just simply ask Jesus to come into your heart. It’s  simple. That’s what I did at the age of 10, on my knees at the altar. Did I walk away from Jesus? No. I left the church but never walked away from God. I have since gone back to church and am walking closer to Jesus. It’s not always been easy, but Jesus has been right here beside me no matter what.

I can’t do life anymore without knowing He is with me 24/7. There are times I feel really close to Jesus and times I don’t. But He is always with me no matter what. And He is with you too. So I want to encourage you not to waste a second dwelling on things you can’t control. Give them to Jesus and let Him worry about it.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
