How’s Your Love Walk?

by | Jun 27, 2024 | God's Love, Kindness, Love

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

(John 3:16 ESV)

“And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

(Ephesians 5:2 ESV)

According to AI Overview, “Walking in love is a phrase from the Bible that appears in Ephesians 5:2. It means to imitate God and act out of love, just as Jesus did. The Greek word translated as love in this passage is agape, which means unconditional, unselfish, and sacrificial love.”

Do you walk in love all the time? Part of the time? Any time?

We should be imitators of Jesus. We need to always walk in love towards others. But we should love ourselves too.

I used to not like myself very much. As I look back on that time, I didn’t like others very much either. Lately, though, I can look at my reflection in a mirror and not hate myself anymore. God has done a major work in me. He has shown me that I can love myself and others as I love God.

According to AI Overview: “The principle of treating others how you want to be treated is known as the ‘golden rule’. It’s also sometimes called an ethics of reciprocity, meaning that you should reciprocate to others how you would like them to treat you. The golden rule is a maxim that is found in many religions and cultures, including the Bible, which says, ‘Treat others just as you want to be treated’ in Luke 6:31 ESV.”

Do you treat others how you want to be treated? Do you have others yelling at you? Then don’t yell at them. Do you want to be treated with kindness? Then, treat others with kindness. It’s really that simple. If you lose your temper with someone, then they are going to get defensive and get angry with you. Go love on someone. Give someone a quick hug or a smile. You will be surprised at how far a simple act of kindness will go.

Have a great day, everyone.
