“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 3:13-14 ESV)
“For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
(Hebrews 8:12 ESV)”
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
Ok. A show of hands. Who has never forgotten something? No one? Then I’m in good company.
This past week has been a hard one for me. It’s been a very painful week, full of sleeping and strong pain meds. With that said, I have forgotten things. I know that also goes along with aging, but narcotic pain meds and anesthesia play a part, too.
While I have forgotten some things, one thing I will never forget is Jesus. Jesus was in surgery holding my hand. I could feel Him there before I was given the sleepy time juice. He was there when I woke up too. He was with me then, and He is with me now. He never leaves me.
People tend to forget, but Jesus doesn’t. He remembers to stay close to us in times of trouble. He remembers our prayers and cries for help. Others forget about you, but it is so nice to know Jesus never will.
Are you going through something? Has it felt like people have forgotten you? They haven’t. They just get busy with their lives. And it’s ok because the most important person is always with you. Jesus! So reach out and take the hand of the one who is always with you.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
