Forgive One Another

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

(Colossians 3:13 NIV)

“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'”

(Acts 2:38 NIV)

I have had to practice patience and forgiveness a lot the past couple of days. I had shoulder surgery, and my 90 year old neighbor seems to know exactly when I am sleeping because that’s when she comes or calls. I don’t know how many times she woke me up and then asked if she did. When I say yes, she keeps talking.

I watched a movie called What Would Jesus Do? I want to think He would mouth off to her about waking Him up so much. But I know He wouldn’t. He would be gracious and kind. Me, I want to throw that plate of food at her because I had already told her I wasn’t hungry. But I am trying to take a lesson from Jesus and show kindness and be grateful. Jesus always showed kindness towards others.

He quickly forgave, too. It takes me a few minutes to forgive sometimes. Especially if I am in pain and finally  sleeping. We all need to follow the example of Jesus. He quickly forgave everyone who wronged Him. Even on the cross, He forgave people. So, next time someone irritates you, quickly forgive them before it becomes a bigger issue.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
