I Am Somebody

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,”

(John 1:12 ESV)

“For in Christ Jesus, you are all sons of God, through faith.”

(Galatians 3:26 ESV)

Have you ever felt like you didn’t matter? You just weren’t good enough, or you were a mistake?

Let me tell you right now, you are somebody to me. You matter to me. You were not a mistake. God doesn’t make mistakes. You are somebody to God, too. You are His child, and He loves you. It doesn’t matter if you were born to teen age parents who gave you up, so you could have a better life or an unexpected  change of life, baby. God planned each of us before the dawn of time.

He has a plan for every one of us. He has a vision for each of us. He knows everything from start to finish. He knew your teenager was going to get pregnant and what would happen after she gave birth. Maybe He planned for her to get pregnant so she would learn a lesson in abstinence or maybe a lesson in loving others. Maybe she made the hard decision to give the baby away. She probably made a couple very happy to adopt that baby. If you just couldn’t cope and had an abortion, God will forgive you. But just so you know, that baby had a life to live. God had a plan for it, too. It was somebody.

Don’t think God doesn’t love you if you feel alone and unloved. To God, you are a very important somebody. To God, we all are very important somebodies. So next time you feel worthless, unloved, or that you don’t matter, look in the mirror and smile. Say, “I am somebody! I am a child of the King!”

Have a fabulous day, everyone.
