“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
(Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
(Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:9 ESV)
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33 ESV)
According to google, discouraged is “having lost confidence or enthusiasm; disheartened.”
Let’s see a show of hands. Who has NEVER been discouraged? Have you lost confidence and enthusiasm? I think we all have at some point in our lives. If you haven’t, please let me know how you do it.
There have been times, some pretty recent, that I just want to sit and cry. Nothing seems to be going right. But then I stop the pity party and pray. I ask God to forgive me. And He does. But I can just imagine Him leaning His head on His hand, waiting for me to stop. But God waits. He waits until I am over whatever is going on. Then He can work it out for me.
Discouraged is not where God wants us to live. He wants us happy. But how do we do that in the world we are living in today? Again, if you know, let me know. It’s hard to be happy all the time. But if we take everything to God right away, we can truly be happy. If we ignore what the devil is putting in our heads and focus on God, we can be happy.
So when the storms of life come to bring you down, run to our Father and let Him work it out for you.
Have a blessed day.
