Too Much Convenience

by | Mar 16, 2024 | Priorities, Relationship

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

(Micah 6:8 ESV)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

(2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV)

I have learned that too much convenience can be a bad thing.

For example, phone numbers. I used to have to write them down or memorize them. Now they are stored in a little metal and glass box called a cell phone.

Don’t get me wrong, cell phones are good. In case your car breaks down or something happens and you need a phone, you have one.

I used to have to search for television shows or movies. Now you have a guide and can save what you want to watch for a later time. According to google, convenience is “the state of being able to proceed with something with little effort or difficulty.”

Would you consider your walk with God convenient? Do you put little effort into it? A lot of people do. But my walk requires work on my part. I pull my well-worn Bible out every day and read it. I study the word. I pray. Sometimes, I just talk to God. He listens whether I am praying or just pouring my heart out to Him.

God loves us and wants us to love Him back. Do you love God? Or is He just someone you go to in times of trouble ? God doesn’t want us to come to Him only in times of trouble. He wants us to talk to Him about everything. Sure, God already knows everything, but He still wants us to talk to Him.

i want to encourage you today to talk to God. I don’t mean a short bullet point prayer. I mean , pour your heart out and praise Him prayer. Let’s increase our time spent with God. You won’t regret it.

Have a fantastic day, everyone.
