“Then Pharaoh’s servants said to him, ‘How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God. Do you not yet understand that Egypt is ruined?’”
(Exodus 10:7 ESV)
“For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.”
(Exodus 12:12 ESV)
I have started reading Exodus. I am reading about the plagues God sent on Egypt. I looked them up. These are the 10 plagues of Egypt:
- Water turning to blood.
- Frogs
- Lice
- Flies
- Livestock pestilence
- Boils
- Hail
- Locust
- Darkness
- Death of 1st born son.
Moses and Aaron went before Pharoah multiple times. After the first couple of times, I can see Pharoah. He is probably thinking, not them again. What now? I can truthfully tell you that the first would be a nuisance, but the frogs would be when I would have run the Israelites out of Egypt.
But not Pharoah. He was in it for the long haul.
What I don’t understand is when Moses asked Pharoah when he wanted it stopped, Pharoah said tomorrow. I would have told him right now! Why put up with it if you had a choice? But God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to prove himself to not only the Egyptians but also to the Israelites. At least, that is my opinion.
So if you start having plagues in your life, tell God you want it stopped now, not tomorrow.
